While cellulite is not considered a serious skin complaint it is certainly ranks among the most unpleasant. When areas of wrinkled fat appear on the skin of the thighs, pelvis and other lower body regions it is easy to imagine the distress caused. If the problem was restricted to a relatively small proportion of the population, people could comfort themselves with the feeling that it was unlikely to happen to them, but research shows that the vast majority of women — maybe as high as 90% — are going to have to deal with cellulite.

The extent of the numbers affected and the emotional impact of cellulite have prompted many efforts to diagnose its causes and find a reliable cure. While a total cure has not yet been discovered, progress has been made.

 

Current knowledge detects a number of factors that contribute to the onset of cellulite and its spread. Are There Really Vitamins For Cellulite?

 

Medical science has long recognized the needs of a healthy body for a certain vitamin intake and balance but the typical lifestyles of the Western World are not conducive to furnishing this necessary vitamin input; people do not set aside the time to take proper meals and they eat too much junk food. If you want to strengthen your health to effectively resist and rid yourself of cellulite, you need to worry about your vitamin intake. Even if you find yourself unable to change eating habits drastically, taking vitamin supplements can help supply the vitamins not absorbed through your meals.

 

One of the most important vitamins to make sure you get in sufficient amounts is vitamin B6. It helps improve the metabolism and so assists in removing toxins from the body, and it can help repair damaged skin tissue. Whole grains and beans are key B6 sources. Vitamin A is also important since it functions as an antioxidant that helps protect skin tissue from the depredations of the free radical harmful compounds. Liver, eggs, and berries are counted amongst the major sources of vitamin A.

 

Vitamin C also assists in fighting off the free radicals and improving skin quality. It is obtained from citrus fruits, in particular oranges and mangoes. Also you should not forget the vitamin E obtained from eating green vegetables and other sources. It is also an antioxidant and helps dissolve excess fat.

 

If we consider that the health of our connective tissue plays a role in the formation of cellulite, then a case could be made for using vitamins for cellulite, at least in a supporting and preventative role. Our skin is healthy only if we provide it the right nutrients, so it stands to reason that feeding it the right nutrients would help keep our connective tissue healthier for longer. Thus, vitamins for cellulite may be more effective as a preventative measure.
